From the owners of the award winning Beckford Arms in Wiltshire & Talbot Inn in Somerset, two delightful, elegant studios with views to match the beauty within.
These two luxurious lodges are named after the original Pavilions built by William Beckford who created the ‘Fonthill Splendens’ for his regular guests including Lord Byron, Horatio Nelson and W.M.Turner In their new incarnation, as well as the fabulous location, guests have the added delights of WiFi, smart TV, Internet radio and a blu-ray DVD player. On arrival, guests enter their pavilion into the beautifully designed open plan living area with original paintings by Zebedee Helm, a simple though well equipped kitchen, wood-burning stove and wonderfully comfortable sofa. Upstairs, the stunning mezzanine is home to the king-size bed and roll top bath both of which look out over the alluring parkland of the Fonthill Estate, some of the most beautiful views in Wiltshire. All natural award winning Bramley products add the finishing touches to your stay. Gorgeous walks are on your doorstep, but should you want to venture further nearby Stourhead, Old Wardour Castle and Shaftesbury, famous for ‘Hovis Hill’ are all an easy drive away. For provisions, Tisbury is a 5 minute drive from the lodges with its delis, supermarket, Beckford Bottle Shop and take-aways. There is also a delicious farm shop, Bird & Carter, Fonthill minutes from Splendens. We are so delighted to be able to offer these two exemplary lodges to our guests.
