Fabulous mountain views, privacy, wood burning stoves and beautifully considered interiors set the scene for your stay in this wonderful house.
At the end of your own private road in the Rothiemurchus forest, Achnahatnich House sits in a secluded position looking out to the mountains as it has done since the 1900s. The house has beautifully renovated under the guidance of London-based designer and stylist Fanny Ward to provide a luxury stay in a uniquely private setting. Interiors are finished in modern Scandinavian style, light and bright, practical but pretty. Her trademark quirky touches are everywhere from the big statement chandelier above the staircase to the blue and white pottery on the walls. The sitting room is welcoming, warm and comfy, the perfect place to unwind in front of the wood burner after a day on the hill. The three bedrooms have all been furnished with supremely comfortable beds and linens for the best night’s sleep you will have had in years. All three have their own bathroom or shower room. The master bedroom has double doors through to an en suite with decadent freestanding bath and shower. From the front of the house you can watch the ever-changing colours and patterns on the mountains, as the sun and clouds create a beautiful natural spectacle across the Cairngorms. Listen to the pheasants, swallows and curlews as their calls carry across the quiet countryside. For an even more spectacular vista, the little “sit-out-erie” at the top of the hill behind the house provides magnificent views of the Lairig Ghru, one of Scotland’s most iconic mountain passes which leads to Deeside and Braemar
